Biggest VR Games Still to Come in 2019!

We’re in the final stretch of 2019 already and the avalanche of games to play is overwhelming. Here are the biggest VR games still due to release before the end of year, in chronological order (several games at the end of the list have unconfirmed dates and may slip into 2020, or later)

  • Pistol Whip

This awesome looking game aims to be a mashup of Beat Saber and SUPERHOT VR which sounds like a match made in heaven. Releasing VERY soon on November 8th!

  • Doctor Who: The Edge of Time

I’ll admit I’m not really a fan of the series, but I know how popular it is and how the concept of time hopping could make for an amazing VR experience. Keep an eye out for this launching next week on November 14th.

  • Failspace

This indie project has been in the oven for some time so hopefully that’s a sign it will have a lot of polish. The concept should grab any sci-fi fan as you and three friends work together to keep your starship one piece, with strong Star Trek and Firefly vibes. Targetting a release the day after Doctor Who, on November 15th.

  • Budget Cuts 2: Mission Insolvency

Let’s face it, the first Budget Cuts was a polished game, but couldn’t live up to its own success and hype generated from the early demo released way back in 2016 when the Vive and Rift first launched. Budget Cuts 2 looks to build on the excellent foundation with more variety in every aspect. Launching the mission on December 12th.

  • Espire 1: VR Operative

The most exciting stealth game since Splinter Cell or Metal Gear Solid 5, both of which have given this polished indie title a lot of inspiration. Stealth in VR is an intensely fun and physical activity, so hopefully this can live up to expectations. The release has been pushed back a few times, currently listed as “Fall 2019” which could mean before the end of November unless it’s delayed again.

  • Boneworks

The most exciting game of the year (that we know of, more on that next). This game boasts impressive physics and weapon handling, clearly wearing its Half Life inspiration on its sleeve. Could it be a secret Valve game, is “Boneworks” a codename for Half Life VR? If not it’s definitely shaping up to be the next best thing. Releasing “Q4 2019” so they’ve got 7 weeks remaining!

  • Half Life VR (a.k.a. HLVR, a.k.a. Valve’s “flagship title releasing 2019”)

    I want to believe.
